Some Fun Activities to inspire and occupy the kids young and old


VISUAL POETRY CHALLENGE


Find inspiration within Iain Cheesman’s latest exhibition Signs of Earlier or the spring colours of the Aigantighe Gardens to create a visual poem, no longer than 10 lines. There are two categories, one for under 18 years of age and one for adults. To enter the Gallery’s visual poetry competition simply emailing your work to gallery@timdc.govt.nz or drop your work off at the Aigantighe Art Gallery, 49 Wai-iti Road, by the 16 October. Each week the Gallery will highlight a selection of entry’s on its facebook page. At the end of the competition Iain Cheesman will select the winners, who will receive a unique poem by the artist and other prizes.

SPRING CHALLENGE


Use your imagination to create an artwork that showcases the beauty of Timaru during springtime.    You may use any style you fancy to paint, collage, print, or draw your way to be in to win . There are two categories, one for under 18 years of age and one for adults. To enter simply emailing your work to gallery@timdc.govt.nz or drop your work off at the Aigantighe Art Gallery, 49 Wai-iti Road by the 16 October. Each week the Gallery will highlight a selection of entry’s on its facebook page.
